

And I remember having to concentrate to do anything but come up with names during that. MJN: I think it was a writing room thing, just trying to make everyone laugh. How did that part of the riff come about originally? Are there more names coming in RiffTrax Live: Space Mutiny? Mike mentioned the many names you give to David Ryder, which is one of the best parts. It seems like it’s easier, but what you realize when you’re trying to make it fresh, it actually makes it more of a challenge so you don’t fall back on the same things you used the first time. KM: In some ways it’s like going back to high school. Where’s the fun for you guys in getting a second chance? I expect a lot of new stuff, but it’s so fun to see new eyes discovering a classic like this.

Then they saw the movie and said oh, I get why this is a thing, and they just loved it. I’m sure they’d heard of it and they knew about the movie, but had never seen it.
